Gas Masks
Reproduction WW2 Civilian Gas Mask - Made to order.

Or to give them their proper title the 'General Civilian Respirator' (GCR). These are made to order and come in two sizes - medium and large. Traditionally, medium were sized for adolescents and women, and large for men. Original gas masks contain Blue Asbestos in the filter which is 100 times more dangerous than normal Asbestos. If gas masks become damaged they can release the Blue Asbestos onto the mask and potentially also into the box and be a serious health hazard. There is also the added potential danger of chemicals being on the outside of the mask from training exercises. As these are made from new materials they are safe to handle.
The box and gas mask are copied from an original. The box is made from 350gsm card with a thin cotton carrying strap as per the original.

The rubber part is made from Neoprene rubber and the filter cannister is 3D printed using PLA - a more natural plastic that is potentially food grade. The filter is hollow and has no filtering parts within and so would be useless as PPE. The triple buckle at the back is also 3D printed using PLA. The other buckles are metal.
The natural cotton webbing straps are adjustable to a max length of 30cm (approx) for the top strap and 20cm (approx) for each of the side straps. 3 safety pins are also included as these were used to secure the straps into position once the optimum fit had been found.
Please note rubber can cause skin irritation to those who suffer with sensitive skin.
